Spirit Public Relations had a spectacular first year trading in 2008 winning a substantial contract with the South West RDA handling communications for the north of the region. Working on behalf of Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal, Spirit devised an integrated communications strategy for a radio fundraising appeal for the Bristol Children’s Hospital called Bristol’s Big Give. A radio appeal with GWRFM was broadcast over three days live from the hospital and was the first of its kind in England. The resulting campaign raised over £80,000 in donations and 250 long term donors. In 2009 they went on to pick up another big contract when they were appointed to oversee communications for UWE’s extended Frenchay campus and the consolidation of its other Bristol sites. Their main areas of expertise are in green development and the environment, community and charity, the public sector and the arts.
